Let’s start our “bioinformatics week” with a small home-work.
In your everyday life as a molecular biologist you will face problems about data analysis, management or interpretation. And sometimes, if not most of the times, you’ll find that there is a tool to address that problem. This said, a very basic knowledge of your PC (and Operating System) are mandatory to download, install and (learn how to) use that program.
During the computer lab we’ll use Linux and its command line interface to do some bioinformatics. But there is also a popular program with a graphical interface to analyse metagenomics data: MEGAN.
Your homework is to have it running in your laptop.
